The base assembly is equipped with an 8FUN rear motor with a rated power of 250 watts and 45 Nm of force, capable of pushing you up to 25 kilometers per hour, after which the assistance is switched off. However, you can customize your Calypso, choosing two variants that will push you up to 42 kilometers per hour: a 500 Watt rear, or a 1000 Watt central which includes a 9-speed digital color display and trigger throttle. All of these electrical system options come with a two-year warranty.

An 11 Amp Samsung Li-ion battery ensures a range of 50-70 kilometers with the 250w motor, although in practice this depends on several factors. For cyclists who like to have a lot of range at their disposal, Bikelec offers the possibility to choose between different battery options up to 25 Ampere. 

Through the central digital display, we control the electric assistance with five levels of assistance, which can also be set to 3 or 9, depending on our needs. It also provides us with other functions typical of a good kilometer counter, a legal accelerator up to 6 kilometers per hour, and the possibility of limiting the maximum speed, through a combination of keys and a secret code. 

The Calypso is not only surprisingly small and maneuverable, but it is also surprisingly stable when negotiating the rough and tumble of traffic. Excellent weight distribution around the light and strong 6061 aluminum frames - with a five-year warranty - as well as the 20-inch diameter wheels with four-inch wide fat Kenda tires provide balance and cushioning for navigating traffic jams on board this little hot rod. The rider can move nimbly through cobblestone or rough streets with sufficient comfort and stability, thanks to the prominent wheels supported by front suspension, the BLK seat reinforced with large springs, and the seat post equipped with a Promax shock absorber. The height adjustment of the folding Zoom handlebars ensures a correct and relaxed riding position.

The front and rear MT200 hydraulic disc brakes produced by the leading firm Shimano, also available on the mechanical M375 model, guarantee powerful, effective, and precise braking, ensuring total control on the move.

With the rational use of the assistance and the 8 speeds offered by the thorough and proven Shimano gear system, the rider will amaze more than one rider by climbing steep slopes with a satisfied smile on his face, while keeping a constant pedaling pace in line with his riding style.

Night riding won't be a problem thanks to the high-powered front and rear LED lights, which will illuminate the road and alert drivers and passers-by to your presence. Those who opt for this electric folding bike for frequent trips to work or study can optionally equip it with a luggage rack with a capacity of up to 10 kilograms - fixed to the seat post or rear with 4 anchor points and prepared to carry loads of up to 25kilos, in which case the lights are reinforced with the lighting included in it, manipulated like the others from the electrical system controls located on the handlebars.
