Haibike Trekking 7
DESCRIPTION Trekking 7
The Haibike Trekking 7.0 works very well as a multi-purpose bike for adventurous commuters, for occasional holiday cycling, or simply to make life simpler and lighter for those who have to ride kilometers every day. Plenty of power for speed, 27.5" diameter wheels and excellent performance to make your ride safe and comfortable - that's the Trekking 7.0. If you're heading out into the great outdoors at the weekend, it'll still take you on easy trails, with the option of removing the city accessories to take on a more rugged country ride.
Yamaha's PW-ST System, which assists up to 25 kilometers per hour with 250 Watts of power and 70 Newton meters of torque, makes the Trekking 7.0 a real fireball in the asphalt jungle. To control all this power, it has three sensors (torque, speed and pedaling frequency), with an update rate of 1000 measurements per second, thus guaranteeing the cyclist a natural and powerful ride at the same time.
The battery pack has a high energy density (630 Watt hours). It is a very efficient, small and lightweight battery pack, hidden in the down tube and contributing greatly to the bike's maneuverability. It is amazingly efficient thanks to the Battery Management System (BMS), which protects it against overcharging and other malfunctioning options, increasing its lifespan. It will hold a charge for a full day's ride and a range of up to 175-200 kilometers in "Eco" mode under optimal conditions. The container is shockproof, secures firmly to the down tube and has an indicator with LED bulbs to inform us of the residual charge and the operation of the battery above the permissible temperature. It has the advantages of lithium batteries: an extremely low self-discharge rate and no memory effect (it can be partially recharged at any time, but if we measure the life span by recharge cycles, the longer we delay each recharge the longer the life span will be).
The Yamaha Multi Switch 2.8" TFT 16-function on-board computer makes controlling the trekking 7.0 easy and intuitive. The LCD screen, located in the center of the handlebars, remains visible in all lighting conditions and provides the bike's ride and operating parameters at a glance. To interact with the computer there is a separate unit that we operate while keeping our hands safely on the handlebars. A function on the display informs us whether we are pedaling at the correct selected speed, intending to preserve the battery and extend its autonomy. When the bike computer is removed from the bike, it retains the ride information, making it possible to recall it later during rest hours. Portable devices such as smartphones and music players can be charged from a USB port.
While riding on rough roads or nature trails the SR Suntour Mobie A32 front suspension, with 75 millimeters of travel, makes the road more comfortable. Its operation can be adjusted to suit your riding style and trail conditions by adjusting air pressure and rebound from a pin on the crown. When not needed, it can be easily locked.
The trekking 7.0 wheel on WTB tires, Groove-E, 61-584, 27.5" x 2.4", specially designed and certified to meet the tire regulations for pedelecs or high-end trekking e-bikes. Made of a high-quality compound they have a low rolling resistance and good grip, especially in fast turns. The sturdy Schürmann Yak25 aluminum rims enable us to ride at high speed with stability and reliability.
Keeping up the pedaling pace on climbs is not a problem while riding the Haibike Trekking 7.0, thanks to the 11 speeds provided by the Shimano Deore M5100 single-catalina bottom bracket shifting system. The lever has a longer lever which reduces shifting effort. The M5100 rear derailleur lever provides a drastic reduction in shifting effort, with efficient cable routing and greater stability during the shifting process.
The brakes to tame this hot rod are Shimano, hydraulic, two-piston RT30 type, with Shimano RT30 discs on both wheels. With them we can deploy the full thrust of the assist safely through stressful city traffic, thanks to the plenty of braking power at our disposal, and the sensitivity allowed by the ergonomic two-finger lever levers.
As a good urban trekking model, the 7.0 is equipped with a 50 lumen Skybeamer front light and AXA juno Ebike rear light. Eurofender Chromoplastic mudguards, Ursus Mooi kickstand and its inseparable luggage rack for carrying loads of up to 25kg complete this magnificent electric urban model that will delight the most demanding globetrotters.
